On behalf of Clatsop Community College, Paula Duncan has offered to let us use a space we already enjoy for meetings in the Josie Pepper Center, directly behind the Performing Arts Center on 11th & Franklin. Roger's group has made an especially interesting Spring selection to read & discuss... The Thirteen American Arguments: Enduring Debates That Define and Inspire Our Country, by Howard Fineman. This book takes a sweeping, thought-provoking, engaging look at the fundamental debates that have shaped America from its 17th century roots. Some may find various arguments insufficiently developed, others may disagree with the basic structure or conclusions; either way, heated discussions are sure to ensue. But Roger, as our ENCORE Director, has much experience presiding over fractious meetings; therefore, we know he can handle whatever differences of opinion may arise among his band of inquiring minds.
