Happy are we to have Becky Read returning with an expanded version of her very popular Practicing Calligraphy class -- Thursday afternoons, 1:30pm to 3pm, at the Seaside Library. New students will be welcome to join her current group in developing their artistic skills. And I can tell you, it's SO much fun! We've spent winter term focused on the basics of Italic Printing and how to incorporate what we've learned into simple calligraphy projects. Becky will be offering one-on-one guidance to newcomers, as well as instructing returning students on the intricacies of various fonts, how to use tools we haven't tried yet, and encouraging us to attempt projects both useful and beautiful. Students who would like to enjoy a slightly longer class will be allowed to set up their materials in the Community Room any time after the morning class concludes at noon. Instruction will be largely limited to 1.5 hrs. per class, but practice is encouraged prior to class.
