WHEN: Thursday mornings
WHERE: Seaside Library
WHO: Doug Balcomb
WHAT: For those of you who were fortunate enough to have attended Doug's Power-Point presentation last year on Peak Oil, this should be an eagerly-awaited event, extending his previous lecture to cover discussion on the collapse of prior civilizations, limits to growth, the geology of petroleum, fossil alternatives, energy alternatives, nuclear power, and what level of technology can best handle the transition. High or low?
Doug will present examples of individual and community actions that others have taken, and we can ponder which road would be best for us. Not an easy task, but an essential one. Don't miss it, though; this class is only four weeks long.
September 18 -- Board meeting, 2-4 pm, Warrenton Community Center
September 28 -- Fall quarter classes begin
