Here we have a four week peek into the possibility of life on other worlds. There is currently a significant body of science on this subject and has become an integral part of some graduate studies in Astronomy. We 'll try to avoid crop circles, lights in the sky & the Roswell Incident as we touch briefly on the biological origins of carbon-based life on Earth and discuss the feasibility of similar occurrences taking place in our solar system, our galaxy...and beyond. Regarding the possibility of advanced life, we'll study the history and mission of the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) program and the Fermi Paradox...if advanced beings are "out there", why haven't we heard from them? Could life have developed on distant worlds, then gone extinct? This course will be interactive and open-minded. ET...call home.
